Uses and Disclosures Requiring No Authorization

Substance Use Disorder Records Modernization

Under the 2024 HHS Final Rule implementing CARES Act § 3221 (effective April 16 2024; compliance required by February 16 2026), patients may give one-time written consent permitting future uses and redisclosures of their substance-use-disorder information by HIPAA-covered entities and business associates for treatment, payment, and health-care operations (“TPO”) until consent is revoked. Until we adopt the Final Rule’s standards, JourneyPure continues to follow 42 CFR Part 2 as described below.

CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE

We may change this Notice and make the new Notice apply to all PHI we maintain. Updated versions will be posted in our facilities and on our website with a new “Effective” date.

COMPLAINTS

You may complain to JourneyPure or to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services if you believe your HIPAA rights have been violated. JourneyPure will not retaliate against you for filing a complaint.
