Rehab can be expensive, but like most everything else involved in your recovery, you are not alone in addressing it. While you may be worried about the money needed to find treatment, we’re here to point out your financial options.

After you’ve reached out and helped us to build a clinical profile on you and your needs, we then turn to the question of whether or not you have insurance. This is called a “benefits check.” It is free of charge and does not commit you to receiving treatment with us.

After checking your benefits, we reach out to discuss how we might make treatment happen under your personal financial circumstances.

Whether you’re fully insured or you have no insurance, we will work with you to figure out how you can find the help you need. We will not give up on you. After all, we work with people in these kinds of situations each and every day. Removing the financial barriers to your health and wellness is a JourneyPure specialty.

Yes, there are times when an insurance policy doesn’t cover 100 percent of your treatment. Many insurance policies cover the treatment itself, leaving a person to cover his or her own travel expenses, meals, lodging, and other expenses.

Also, it should be noted that, when it comes to rehab, the most expensive treatment is not necessarily the best. Many rehab programs provide luxury extras that have not proven particularly effective in treating substance use disorder or other mental health issues. Treatment with “evidence-based” practices and therapies is what is most important.

Insurances We Accept

Most insurance companies have accepted substance use disorder as a disease that requires professional treatment. This makes it easier for those who are insured to access the services they need.

At JourneyPure, we accept a wide variety of different insurances, which enables us to help as many people as possible. We also strive to make the payment process simple and stress-free.

Some of the larger insurance plans accepted by JouneyPure include:
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
Anthem BCBS provides drug and alcohol detox and rehab coverage under its behavioral healthcare plan in all 50 states. It covers both inpatient and outpatient treatment for members who have behavioral healthcare coverage in their plans. Contacting Anthem directly to find out the ins and outs of your specific coverage is a good idea, since individual coverages can vary based on residence, length of stay, and level of insurance plan.

Kentucky Medicaid
Kentucky Medicaid is a state and federal program authorized by Title XIX of the Social Security Act to provide health care for eligible low-income residents including children, families, pregnant women, the elderly, and the disabled. The program is divided among five managed care organizations: Aetna Better Health of KY, Anthem BCBS, Humana CareSource, Passport Health Plan, and Wellcare of Kentucky.

CenterCare/Aetna
Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna sells traditional and consumer-directed health plans and related services, including medical, pharmaceutical, behavioral health, and disability plans. The company’s open-access, copay-only, and high-deductible plans can all help pay for drug rehab and addiction treatment, but coverage options and costs can vary. Aetna determines coverage on an individual basis, rather than setting a limit on the number of days a patient can be in treatment.

Optum/United Healthcare
Part of UnitedHealth Group, Optum is a health IT firm that provides technological, operational, and consulting solutions and services to individuals, healthcare companies, pharma companies, and Federal and state governments. In 2018, Optum partnered with the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation to expand access to evidence-based addiction treatment services, including specialty programs and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder, to its members.

Multiplan
Multiplan is a preferred provider organization, maintaining a healthcare network of providers–physicians, specialist facilities, and hospitals, including providers of addiction treatment. Multiplan’s addiction treatment coverage provides referral specialists can offer a complimentary insurance benefits review and recommend specific rehab treatment facilities.

Beacon Health Options
Beacon Health Options is a behavioral health insurance company with more than 70 locations across the U.S. The company offers clinical mental health and substance use disorder management, as well as an employee assistance program, work-life support, specialty programs for autism and depression, and analytics to improve the delivery of care to policyholders.

Cigna
Cigna works with employers and organizations around the world to help people stay healthy and on the job. The company works closely with brokers and consultants to develop innovative programs and lower medical costs. In March 2018, Cigna announced that, in partnership with more than a million clinicians, the company had achieved a 25 percent reduction in opioid use among its customers.

Humana
Serving over nine million members across the U.S., Louisville, Kentucky-based Humana offers group healthcare coverage, Medicare plans, individual health plans, and specialty benefits. Its plans are accepted at drug rehabilitation programs, but acceptability of insurance varies according to the individual and the type of treatment. Humana has a network of more than 65,000 psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and nurse practitioners. While the company covers many of the costs associated with treatment for mental health and substance use disorders, these services often require pre-authorization.

TRICARE
TRICARE is the health care program for service members, retirees, and their families around the world. It is managed by the U.S. Defense Health Agency, under the leadership of the Assistant Secretary of Defense-Health Affairs. Care for military personnel and dependents is provided in military medical facilities, as well as through a referral system by civilian medical practitioners in areas where military physicians were not available, or in instances of military medical facilities’ being overcrowded. Many drug and alcohol rehab programs throughout the U.S. accept TRICARE plans to cover the cost of addiction treatment, including the programs of JourneyPure.
